General Rental Conditions

The driver of the Camper Van, hereinafter referred to as the «vehicle,» must be at least 18 years old. They must hold a valid Class B driver’s license or its international equivalent with at least 5 years of validity. If there are additional drivers, their driver’s licenses must be provided and declared.

The customer must provide a list of occupants during the rental period. It is prohibited to transport more people than indicated.

The customer must declare the route to be taken. This allows Van Builders Rentals to provide precise information for a better experience.

In the case of international crossings, the customer must inform Van Builders Rentals at least 4 days in advance to request the corresponding authorization. There is an additional charge of CLP$ 180,000.- for this authorization. This authorization includes RCI insurance.

In case of false information provided, the lessee will assume all applicable responsibilities. Furthermore, the contractual relationship will be terminated, and no refunds will be provided.

1.- Reservation, Payments, and Cancellations Conditions

To finalize a rental, two payments must be made. The first is the reservation payment, which consists of a 40% down payment of the total rental value. Once this payment is confirmed, you will receive an email confirming the vehicle reservation.

The second payment is the payment of the remaining 60% balance. This payment must be made no later than 30 days before the vehicle delivery date. Failure to receive this payment may result in the company canceling the reservation without the right to a refund.

If you decide to cancel your reservation before 50 days from the start date of the trip, 50% of the initially paid value will be refunded. If you decide to cancel your trip between 50 days and 30 days prior to the trip, only 20% of the total value paid will be refunded. If you decide to cancel your reservation during the 30 days prior to the trip, no refund will be given.

2.- Guarantee

A guarantee of CLP $1,200,000.- must be provided in the event of any incident. This guarantee must be provided at the time of vehicle reception (Credit card only).

If there are no incidents or damages, the guarantee will be fully refunded after the vehicle inspection. All of the above will be detailed and safeguarded in the rental contract and its respective guarantees.

3.- Vehicle Delivery and Return

At the time of delivery, at least 50 minutes should be allocated for the respective induction. Once completed, a visual inspection and check of the equipment will be conducted. All of this will be documented in the respective «Check List,» which will be added as an annex to the rental contract.

The Camper Van is delivered sanitized (considering the current sanitization protocol) and in optimal working conditions. Additionally, it is delivered with a full tank of fuel and gas, a full water tank, and all waste tanks empty. To ensure its proper return, a one-time cleaning fee of CLP $50,000.- must be considered.

The Camper Van is delivered and returned in the city of Santiago. If you wish to have the vehicle delivered and/or returned to a different location, this isn’t available.

The delivery time starts at 10:00 a.m. and the return is until 5:00 p.m. on the day the contract ends. Delay in return will result in a fine of CLP$ 80,000.- for each hour elapsed.

4.- Operating Conditions

For proper use, in addition to the initial induction, Van Builders Rentals will provide the user manual and a quick help guide for any eventuality.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the proper use of the rented property and, in case of needing any repairs, to notify the responsible party in a timely manner for authorization.

After the trip, the return condition of the vehicle will be checked. In case of damage or malfunction due to misuse, these will be charged to the customer and deducted from the guarantee.

Note: In case weather or route conditions or other factors affect the safety of our customers, Van Builders Rentals may unilaterally suspend the service. In such cases, a full refund will be issued or, if preferred, a voucher for future use of the service will be provided.

5.- Damages and Losses

In case of damage to the Camper Van equipment and its mechanics, the customer must immediately report it to Van Builders Rentals for assistance.

It is expressly established that in the event of damages of any kind and if it is clearly proven that the damage is attributable to the customer, the repair and transportation costs, if required, will be the customer’s responsibility, even if they exceed the amount of the guarantee provided.

On the contrary, if the damage is not attributable to the customer, the repair and transportation costs, if required, will be covered by Van Builders Rentals.

It is established that, only in the event that the damage is due to fortuitous events or force majeure, and if this implies an impediment to continue the journey, a replacement vehicle will be provided if available.

If no vehicles are available, transportation, will be provided for the return to Santiago.

In the case of minor fortuitous damage that does not require assistance and occurs in a place with an established workshop, the customer must request a quote, validate it with Van Builders Rental, and provide the subsequent workshop receipt for the repair. The vehicle’s license plate must be specified in said receipt for its subsequent reimbursement.

6.- Included Equipment

The vehicle is delivered with the following equipment: Bedding (Pillows, sheets, blankets, and bed cover), complete tableware, table, camping chairs, hydraulic jack, triangles, fire extinguisher, basic first aid kit, reflective vest and 1 spare tire.

7.- Fines and Sanction

The customer agrees to make good use of the Camper Van, follow the given instructions, not exceed the recommended speed limits (100km/h), and comply with traffic laws in general.

They are directly responsible for the proper functioning and for any infractions that may be issued, and in case of incurring in major sanctions, it will be their responsibility to address them or will be paid from the Renter Credit Card.

8.- Considerations for Special Requirements

For those customers requiring permanent electricity, they must ensure their supply from external sources, as Van Builders Rental is not responsible for supplying it for such purposes.

9.- Prohibitions

Smoking inside the vehicle or transporting domestic animals is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with any of these prohibitions will result in a fine of CLP $400,000.-

It is prohibited to travel on roads that are clearly in poor condition and affect the normal operation of the unit, and it is the customer’s responsibility to address any eventualities.
